The Aliens Are Here! Robert Carlyle Stars In BBC's THE WAR OF THE WORLDS

Get ready everyone! The eagerly-awaited three-part BBC adaptation of HG Wells' classic The War of the Worlds finally lands on our television screens this Sunday 17 November at 9pm on BBC1, starring our amazing ROBERT CARLYLE.

This exciting new drama is a tense and thrilling ride directed by award-winning director Craig Viveiros. Set in Edwardian England, this major new Peter Harness adaptation of the seminal sci-fi tale - the first alien invasion story in literature - follows George (played by Rafe Spall) and his partner Amy (Eleanor Tomlinson) - neighbourhood pariahs who have fallen deeply in love despite George being married to another woman. The War of the Worlds tells their story as they attempt to defy society and start a life together, suddenly faced with the escalating terror of an alien invasion and ultimately fighting for their lives against an enemy beyond their comprehension.

Robert plays Ogilvy, a good friend of Amy and George and an outcast himself. He’s an astronomer and scientist who is kind and good-humoured and whose tireless experiments could be the key to driving back the Martian invasion.
